A big delegation of journalists on July 22 visited giant auto manufacturer FAW Group – located in Changchun city in Northeast China's Jilin province – as part of a major media campaign launched in the province, to promote an in-depth understanding of the region and its achievements.

FAW Group has reportedly been making big strides in its innovation. During the 12 months from July 23 last year, the company released its Innovation 2030 China FAW Flag Technology Development Strategy – achieving 73 key core technological breakthroughs in six key areas and formulating and revising 1,138 standards.

During the period, a total of 3,928 patents were applied for, including 2,064 invention patents, an increase of 14 percent and 31 percent year-on-year, respectively.

There was also the official opening in Changchun of FAW Group's Hongqi Fanrong plant – mainly responsible for the output of new energy vehicles – which has an annual production capacity of 200,000 vehicles.

On July 22 the media delegation left Changchun and in a schedule running to July 28, it is visiting Songyuan, Baichen, Siping, Baishan, Jilin cities, as well as the Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture.
