Xia Geng outlined Shandong's overall situation and their cooperation opportunities with Kazakhstan. He said that Shandong is one of the most important supplying sites on the ancient Silk Road.

In recent years, Shandong has continuously strengthened its energy infrastructure construction, vigorously promoted technological innovation and international cooperation, and made great achievements in both traditional energy utilization and innovation and promotion of new energy.

At present, energy trade accounts for 30 percent of the Sino-Kazakhstan trade. Shandong has carried out successful cooperation with Kazakhstan in power construction, oil equipment and machinery manufacturing, and will continue to strengthen the cooperation through a series of exchange activities, Xia said.

Xia also expressed that Shandong will fully demonstrate its colorful Qilu culture, and its achievements in energy and ecological development through the event. Shangdong will hold a series of commercial promotions to achieve more trade and economic cooperation between Chinese and Kazakhstan enterprises in energy and chemical industry, tourism, infrastructure construction, transportation equipment manufacturing and other fields, playing a vital role in the construction of "Belt and Road".
