The commencement ceremony for the construction of Jiuhua Mountain Buddhist Culture City was held in Chizhou Zhanqian district on August 21.
"The construction of the Buddhist culture city will promote the development of the tourism industry on Jiuhua Mountain and in Chizhou city as a whole,” said Yuan Jiming, vice mayor of Chizhou.
The Jiuhua Mountain Buddhist Culture City was funded by the Anhui Industrial Investment Corporation. It will take up an area of about 59 acres, with a total investment of 160 million yuan. The construction of the Buddhist Culture City aims to shape itself into a center for exchanging Buddhist supplies, travel supplies and fine crafts, while at the same time serves as a tourist distribution center.
