Anqing to build the widest lounge bridge in China

Several sales women are enjoying the wooden model of the to-be-built Golden Mountain Lounge Bridge in Yuexi county, Anqing city, on August 23.

Yuexi county in Anqing city of East China's Anhui province plans to build a 128-meter long, 38.6-meter wide, 3-story bridge over the river that flows through the city.

The Golden Mountain Lounge Bridge will feature typical Hui-style architecture.

A traditional Chinese lounge bridge is also called a rainbow bridge, which normally has a roof on top to serve as protection from the bridge’s beams and provide shade from the sun, shelter from the rain, serves as a place to rest and arrange get-togethers. This type of bridge does not appear in any other part of the world.
