The Dawang (King’s) Cave scenic area is located on the southern bank of the Yangtze River in the city of Chizhou in Anhui province. Hailed "the first cave in eastern China", the cave is listed by the provincial people’s government as a provincial-level scenic area in 1987.
The King’s Cave scenic area is comprised of four scenic spots: Heaven Bridge, Fairy Valley, King’s Cave and King’s Lake.
Heaven Bridge is a naturally formed stone bridge that is 52 meters high, 64 meters wide and 73 meters deep. It is the natural gateway to the King’s Cave scenic area. Experts say that a stone bridge of this type is rare in China and the world.
Fairy Valley captures the look of a primeval forest, with ancient trees stretching to the sky and waterfalls plunging down from sheer cliffs.
King’s Cave is a treasure of natural art. Its total span is 3,500 meters. The main chamber reaches 2,200 meters. It is divided into five giant natural wonders: Phoenix Palace, Dragon Palace, Immortal Garden, Yaochi Pool and Milky Way. Fresh air and spring weather prevail in the cave all year round.
Dawang Lake is clear blue. Surrounded by willows, it is a wonderful place for tourists to relax and go fishing.
