Opening ceremony for the mountain cycling championship

The opening ceremony for the Zipengshan Mountain section of the China Mountain Cycling Championship was held in Hefei city on March 29 with the attendance of several officials.

Zipengshan Mountain scenic zone, which lies in the suburbs of Hefei, has been dubbed “the first mountain of Hefei” since Qin Dynasty, and abounds with forests and wild birds. With seven international standard racing tracks, it has become one of the most celebrated cycling training and competition bases in recent years. Eight mountain and road racing cycling events have been held there over the past seven years.

The championship was hosted by the General Administration of Sport of China and operated by Anhui provincial sport bureau and the People’s Government of Feixi County, Hefei. The Zipengshan Mountain event will be launched from April 2 to 3, and will become the fifth section of the whole Championship this year. The games will be divided into cross country racing and individual time trials for both men and women. More than 10 teams from Beijing, Hebei, Jiangsu, Anhui and the Peoples Liberation Army will attend the games.
