National Chinese Chess Teenage Tournament concludes

The National Chinese Chess Teenage Tournament 2012 came to a close on August 8 in the city of Huangshan, Anhui province. More than 1,000 players representing 120 teams participated in the tournament.

The tournament started on August 2 and continued throughout the week. The players were divided into four groups, A, B, C or D, depending on their former performance. There was no team match, just men's single and women's single.

Ge Chaoran and Liu Zijian were the champions of group A and B in the men's single. The champions of group A and group B in the women's single went to Tang Sinan and Ling Zi. These four will get the chance to participate in the 2012 National Chinese Chess Tournament.

The champions of group C in both the men's and women's single were Fan Yue and Dong Jiaqi. They will have the opportunity to try out for the 2012 Asia Chinese Chess Teenage Tournament. According to the organizing committee, the tournament gathers all the young talents of Chinese chess and provides a good opportunity for them to communicate and exchange ideas.
