During the Qingming Holiday, the Three-Kingdoms Site Park, venue of the 6th peony festival, received more than 60 thousand tourists.

the were welcomed by the most tourists. Due to the warm weather, the 30 thousand peonies in the peony garden are blooming earlier than usual, and are attracting lots of tourists taking photos. Another unique feature of this peony show is in the form of actors and actresses dressed up as the Emperor Tang Minghuang, the Imperial Concubine Lady Yang (who was compared to a peony by Li Bai in his poem) and their entourages.

Starting from the autumn of 2008, 56 kinds of peonies of various colors have been planted in the park, and some rare varieties have been introduced this year. It is estimated that those peonies will be in full bloom early this month. Apart from the flowers outdoors, over 200 peonies from Luoyang (a city in Henan province famous for its peonies) will be in an indoor display in the park.

The festival will last until May 4. Three major events of the festival are now welcoming registration:

1. "The Peony Fairy" talent show, in which all females between 14 and 35 years old can take part;

2. The kite flying race;
