Huangshan - Hangzhou railway starts construction in the second half of 2014
Updated: 2014-05-19

While it is already known that the Hefei-Fuzhou (Fujian province) railway will be open to traffic in 2014 and construction of the Shangqiu (Henan province)-Hefei-Hangzhou (Zhejiang province) railway will start this year, it has recently been announced that a Huangshan-Hangzhou railway will also start construction in 2014.

The Huangshan-Hangzhou railway will run from Huangshan city, Anhui province to Hangzhou, passing through Huangshan North station, Shexian North, Jixi North, Sanyang, Chun'an, Jiande East, Tonglu, Fuyang, Hangzhou South and Hangzhou East stations. This passenger-special line will link a number of famous tourist attractions, such as the city of Hangzhou, with the Fuchun River and Xin'an River, Qiandao lake, and Huangshan Mountain, thereby forming a world-class tourist passageway.

In the future, Hefei citizens will be able to take a high-speed train on the Hefei-Fuzhou railway to Huangshan Mountain, and then take the Huangshan-Hangzhou train for a trip in Hangzhou. After visiting Hangzhou, they can take a high-speed train on the Shangqiu- Hefei- Hangzhou railway to get back home.
