History

On June 25, 1997, Tsinghua Tongfang Co Ltd was established. On June 27, 1997, Tsinghua Tongfang was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. On May 30, 2006, Tsinghua Tongfang Co Ltd was renamed as Tongfang Co Ltd.

Tongfang has been constructed into ten core divisions. They are：Computer, Digital City, The Internet of Things Application, Micro-electronics & Radio Frequency Technology, Multi-media，Semi Conductor & Illuminating, Knowledge Network, Military Application, Digital TV, and Environment Technology Industry Divisions.

By the end of 2009, Tongfang's total assets reached 20 billion yuan ($3.14 billion), and its annual operational income topped to 15 billion yuan. The company's patents and software authorizations increased to 1341.

By 2009, the company's brand value exceeded 50.12 billion yuan. Tongfang has been listed among the "100 Top Scientific and Technological Enterprises of China", "100 Top Chinese Enterprises in Electronic Information" and "500 Top World Brands" .
