Cao Guowei was born in November 1965 in Shanghai. After he graduated from the Department of Journalism in Fudan University, Cao obtained a Masters of Journalism at the University of Oklahoma and a Masters in Finance at Austin University, Texas.
Cao worked as a senior manager in PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the world's top five accounting firms, and was involved in the listing of a number of high-tech companies in NASDAQ.
