Liu Qiang holds a bachelor's degree from Tsinghua University and a PhD from the CAS Institute of Computing. He successively worked in the Hundred Billiton Gram Science & Technology Development Co Ltd and Ark Technology (Beijing) Co Ltd.

Currently, he is the board chairman and general manager of Ingenic Semiconductor Co Ltd. He also serves as the chief executive director and general manager of Ingenic Times.

Ingenic Semiconductor Co Ltd, the predecessor of Beijing Ingenic Semiconductor, was established on July 15th, 2005. It was restructured to an incorporated company on October 30th, 2009. On December 24th, 2009, the company obtained a business license issued by the Beijing Administration for Industry and Commerce for official operating.

The company's businesses cover the development and sales of 32-bit embedded CPU chips and the supporting software platform. It has grown into a leading supplier of 32-bit embedded CPU chip domestically and internationally.

In the five major areas of CPU core innovation, multimedia technology, SoC chip technology, power consumption and power management technology, the company has 15 core technologies. Through the innovation of technology, the company has achieved a leading market advantage in portable consumer electronics and its applications.
