Liu Donghua was born in Cangzhou City, Hebei Province. Currently he is the president of the magazine Chinese Entrepreneur and executive and chairman of the Chinese Entrepreneur Club.
After graduating from the China Academy of Social Sciences with a master's degree in journalism in 1990, Liu was assigned to the Comment Department of Economic Daily, where he worked as an editor, reporter and commentator.
In the second half of 1996, he became the president and legal representative of the magazine Chinese Entrepreneur.
He held a concurrent post as president of the Economic Daily Press from 2006 to 2008.
In 2006, Liu Donghua founded the Chinese Entrepreneur Club and served as the executive chairman.
Now he is the director of the Editorial Committee for the China Entrepreneur Series, director of the Organizing Committee for the China Entrepreneur Summit, and chief judge of the CCTV Annual Economic Figures.
