Deng Feng, Director & General Manager of Northern Light Venture Capital
As one of the founders of Northern Light Venture Capital, Deng Feng has nearly 20 years of technical and management experience in the computer, communications and data network industries. In 1997 he established NetScreen Technologies Inc and served as the vice president of engineering, chief strategy officer and a member of the board of directors.
NetScreen made its successful listing on the NASDAQ in 2001. NetScreen was then purchased by Juniper Networks for $4.2 billion in 2004. At the time, Deng was working in Juniper as vice president in charge of corporate strategy. Due to Deng's outstanding business achievements, he was awarded the "United States Entrepreneur 2002" and "Innovator of the Year 2003" among other honors.
Deng Feng successively received his master's degree in computer engineering from the University of Southern California and his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. In addition he holds a bachelor’s and master's degree in electrical engineering from Tsinghua University. He also has a number of American patents in computer architecture and IC design. He serves as the director of the Tsinghua University Foundation in addition to other duties.
