Zhang Dan, president and CEO of Fountain Medical Development |
Zhang Dan was born in 1963 in Xuzhou, Jiangsu province. He graduated from the Peking Union Medical College in 1989 with a doctorate in medicine. He later obtained a master’s degree in public health from Harvard University and a master's degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Prior to joining Fountain Medical, Zhang Dan served as president of Quintiles China and later worked for Sigma-Tau, Italy's largest pharmaceutical company. While at Sigma-Tau, Zhang helped the company obtain six clinical approvals from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Zhang was formerly an expert advisor and visiting professor at Shanghai Medical College, Peking Union Medical College and Harbin Medical University. He was a member of the overseas expert committee in the Ministry of Science and Technology. He also served as chairman at the Chinese Biopharmaceutical Association and the Sino-American Pharmaceutical Professionals Association (SAPA).
He now serves as president and CEO of Fountain Medical.
