The 2013 China Zhongguancun Summit on the Convergence of Culture and Technology was held recently, and aimed to offer a professional service platform to promote the combination of culture and technology - in a bid to offer creative ideas to small start-up enterprises.
The summit was sponsored by the management committee of Haidian Park and hosted by the Haidian District Culture and Innovation Industry Association. The event’s main activities included the launch of the first group of twelve culture and technology parks and incubators - set up in the district by Tsinghua Technology Park, Zhongguancun Software Park, and the Haidian Mobile Internet Innovation Start-Up Incubator - and other activities such as promotions for companies in the cultural and creative industries that also use modern technologies, as well as a meeting for mobile game developers and digital publishers.
Three enterprises that create platforms – Datang Telecom Technology & Industry Group, Beijing Shumadafang Technology Ltd, and I-MU – gave presentations focusing on mobile Internet roadshows, digital designs, and creative digital industries. The new platforms are expected to help transform products of the creative industries - by effective resource convergence - so as to create new business patterns, and thus help reduce the costs and risks in the creative industries.
This summit aimed to provide a service chain of industry, innovation, and capital to improve the entrepreneurship environment in the district for small and medium-sized companies.
