A Sino-Japanese symposium on industry-university-research (IUR) cooperation was jointly held by Tsinghua Technology & Innovation Holding Co Ltd (THTI), the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and the Research Center for Japanese Studies of Tsinghua University on March 18 at Tsinghua Science Park, Beijing.
Representatives from 41 Japanese universities participated in the symposium and many of them - including those from Tokyo Metropolitan University, the University of Electro-Communications, Ritsumeikan University, Okayama University and Niigata University - introduced their achievements in industrializing their research results.
In order to facilitate communications and cooperation between Chinese science parks and Japanese IUR projects, Yixing Economic and Technological Development Zone in East China's Jiangsu province, Guiyang Hi-Tech Industrial Development Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province and two other hi-tech zones shared their successes and advantages in IUR cooperation.
THTI chairman Qin Jun addressed the symposium, which was also attended by more than 200 representatives from government departments, science parks, universities, companies and research institutes.
