Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi Corp plans to tap into overseas markets in 10 countries in Europe, Asia and South America starting this year, the Beijing-based company's founder and chairman Lei Jun said at the launch of its new products on April 23.

The 10 countries are Malaysia, Philippines, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Russia, Turkey, Brazil and Mexico, according to the company, which also unveiled two smart routers – a dual band router with top end facilities and a mini router, as well as an upgraded version of a set-top box at the launch.
On April 22, Xiaomi replaced its old official website – xiaomi.com with its new domain - mi.com, which it bought for more than 20 million yuan ($3.6 million). The move is considered to be a landmark of the company's further internationalization. The company plans to sell 60 million smartphones this year and 100 million sets for 2015.
