Dawning Information Industry Co, a Beijing-based high-tech enterprise, has announced its plan to develop Dawning 7000 - another more powerful supercomputer even than the petascale supercomputer "Nebulae", according to the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee.

"Nebulae" is just offering services at the National Supercomputing Center in Shenzhen, which is mainly used in scientific computation, intelligent search of the Internet and gene sequencing.

Dawning 7000 is a new generation supercomputer designed by the company to meet market demand in the future. It has fully adopted its own technologies in processors, high-speed communication networks, large-scaled storage system, system software and application software.

The company believes that Dawning 7000's performance, efficiency, technology and its application are world beating and it will march toward the international market.

Relying on years of technical accumulations in the field of high-performance computing, Dawning is transforming itself from a hardware provider to a cloud computing service provider. Up to now, Dawning has already established seven cloud computing centers across the country.

Founded in 1995, Dawning has built an industrial chain for servers covering R&D, design and manufacturing. The company launched China's first supercomputer running at a hundred trillion operations per second in 2008.
