The annual Zhongguancun Forum took place in Beijing on Thursday. The event was themed "Ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship: cooperation, sharing and win-win". It focused on how to involve governments, enterprises, research institutes and social organizations to collaboratively push development of innovation.
Attendees included several high-profile experts such as Luis Sanz, director general of the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation, Karin Finkelston, vice-president for Asia Pacific with International Finance Corporation of World Bank Group, and Wu Jinglian, one of China's preeminent economists.
The sub-forums covered four innovative and major industries. Topics included big data figures new life; Internet financing: integration and development; boundless entrepreneurship; cross-border acceleration; International eco-environment and energy technology transfer.
At the big data technology sub-forum, attendees discussed the mutual development of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei province in North China, the construction and management of smart cities and the sustainable development of a social economy.
The Internet economy sub-forum involved more than 10 domestic and global Internet economic institutions and emerging Internet companies.
They discussed product innovation and marketing strategies, innovative supervising methods, the importance of small and micro businesses in the industry's development, and projections of next year's market trends.
Dozens of representatives from Chinese and foreign enterprises and local science parks attended the technology transition sub-forum. Several attendees including David Conover, director of Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center at Stony Brook University, gave speeches.
Experts from the United States, the United Kingdom and Spain discussed integrating global innovative resources and promoting international cooperation with senior executives of Chinese corporations in Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei province.
Liu Xinhua, chief marketing officer at Cheetah Mobile, a Chinese mobile browser service provider, gave a keynote speech on how Chinese Internet companies could expand aggressively in overseas markets.
Zhongguancun Science Park has helped Beijing create a high-grade, high-precision, and advanced economic structure and develop China as an innovative nation.
