An online community called “Gig Community” was created in Fengtai Park, a subpark of the Zhongguancun Science Park, to increase the chance of success for start-ups by clustering a group of both novices and professionals to convenience both industrial resource and information sharing, according to officials from the Park on June 28.

The “Gig Community” closes the gap between the idle intellectual resources and the boom of innovation and entrepreneurship. To help integrate the shattering resources to aide more start-ups, the online community identified itself as a top intelligence resource sharing platform, providing both online and offline services.

Qualified technicians, entrepreneurs and industry pundits — among others — mainly participate in the community , exchanging products and ideas which will help reduce both the costs and risks of starting a business. Technicians can make extra money by answering questions posed within the community, as entrepreneurs can seek low-cost solutions to their problems in product development and management, Sun Yongfu, the deputy director of the Fentai Park management committee, said.

Community users can get to know the value of their licensed patens within the network and have access to the industrialization index of patents, a reliable reference for entrepreneurs in estimating the level of risk in their businesses.
