A brand roadshow -- Demo the World -- sponsored by Zhongguancun Innoway, was held in Beijing on Oct 16. Nine programs brought by teams from seven countries focusing on artificial intelligence, transportation and medical treatment industries were displayed at the show.
The 5D Robotics intelligent transportation system created by an American team and a surgery AR\VR training system developed by Medical Realities of the UK were the highlights of this year's roadshow, and both have received six-month’s incubating services and financial support from Zhongguancun Innoway.
The 5D Robotics system is devoted to unmanned driving sensor technology, integrating software with sensors and offering an intelligent analysis of the surrounding road condition by sending wireless pulses and analyzing reflected signals. Such sensors can reach a two centimeters' precision and maintain high stability even on rainy and snowy days.
Medical Realities is a VR and AR pioneer of artificial intelligent technology used in medical treatment. The firm once cooperated with the Royal London Hospital, a renowned teaching hospital, and in 2016 live broadcasted a cancer operation performed by Shafi Ahmed, a surgeon and co-founder of Medical Realities.

Different from VR companies adapted to entertainment, Medical Realities combines new technology with medical treatment to train surgeons. This VR medical training method is low cost, reproducible and immersive, which solves the problem of a lack of global surgery resources and makes medical care technologies more available in different places in the world.
Yao Hongbo, president of Zhongguancun Innoway, said compared to last year's festival, more leading enterprises and institutions have taken part this year, which has improved the financial matching of programs.
Huang Ying, deputy director of the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Haidian Science Park, stressed that the entrepreneurship ecology in China is moving in various directions. Being an innovation center in China, Zhongguancun Haidian Park will further focus on improving innovative abilities and creating a cross border and cross cultural exchange environment.
Demo the World is a star activity of the 2016 global Top Competitions section of the Zhongguancun Innovation and Entrepreneurship Festival and has become a passage-way for high-quality programs entering China.
The first Demo the World roadshow was held in 2015, with 15 international innovative and entrepreneurial programs from eight countries in attendance. The South Korean human online translation platform Flitto registered at Zhongguancun at that time and has received nine million dollars' investment in Round B financing.
Similarly, Sonder -- an electronic ink keyboard invented by an Australian team – is now being incubated at Zhongguancun Innoway by Foxconn, a high-tech enterprise focusing on computer science, communications, consumer electronics and automotive components.
