The 2016 China International Graphene Industry Development Forum, as well as the launch ceremony of the Zhongguancun Alliance of the Graphene Industry, was held in Beijing on Nov 8.
More than 40 institutes, colleges and leading enterprises including the Zhongguancun Development Group, the Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology and Tunghsu Group -- a company focusing on eco light sensors and laser lamps -- joined the alliance.
The alliance was set up to integrate innovation, financing, industrial and service chains, to benefit graphene research and development and to explore graphene's potential applications in various industries.
Meanwhile, the organization will lead to improvements in graphene producing equipment and technology and increase production.
The alliance selected a committee of experts and four business working teams, namely an examination group, a cooperation and exchange group, a patent group and an industry promotion group to develop graphene industrial research scientifically and efficiently.
Being the technological and innovative center of China, Beijing owns the largest and the most intensified graphene research and development resources. Tsinghua University and Peking University alone are conducting 13 graphene research programs.
Additionally, Fengtai District is the first area in Beijing to develop the graphene industry and to explore international cooperation.
With the newly founded graphene alliance, Beijing will confirm its status as a graphene industry pioneer in China and around the world.
