The world first VR eyeball trace module – aGlass -- was launched by 7invensuns Corporation in Beijing on Nov 2.

The trace coverage of aGlass can cover the full range of human eye movement, which is 30 degrees vertically and 50 degrees horizontally. Its tracing speed can reach 380 hertz.

The product can also hold individualized vision correction lens.

Peng Fan, founder of the company, demonstrated the VR product and said eye control technology can solve three problems in the VR industry – high hardware requirements, lack of cohesion between the existing interactive mode and VR experience and difficulties in upgrading.

The newly published eyeball trace module features a fixation point rendering technology, which improves the rendering efficiency by more than seven times and can save 87 percent of pixel data volume, which means current hardware can meet the needs of VR technology and costs can be lowered.

"Users can move their heads to control views and move their eyes to target," Peng said.

Guests at the debut ceremony also offered their suggestions for the product. Some said that an even lower cost and an increase in cooperation with more hardware manufacturers could lead to application of this product in more industries.

Eye control technology is becoming more and more indispensable in VR.
