Liu Shaoyong, President of China Eastern Airlines Corp Ltd
Liu Shaoyong, born in Lingshan town, Luoshan county, Xinyang city, Henan province, is currently the general manager of China Eastern Airlines Corp Ltd (CEAH). He also serves as director of the China Air Transport Association, member of the International Air Transport Association, and member of the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan-Straits. When CEAH’s operations ran into difficulties, he was entrusted with the task of reviving CEAH. He was able to successfully save the company from bankruptcy through vigorous reforms and strong financial reorganization. CEAH’s corporate miracle was a direct result of Liu’s efforts.

The China Eastern Airlines Corp Ltd was established in 2002. Headquartered in Shanghai, CEAH is one of three major air transport groups in China. It is attached to the State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. CEAH has 20 investment holding companies under its flag. Its air transport service system has a core business which focuses on air transport and a variety of related ancillary businesses. In 2009, CEAH successfully merged with Shanghai Airlines and underwent reorganization. By June 2010, total assets of CEAH reached 11 billion yuan, demonstrating strong growth and momentum. Its assets to liabilities ratio also dropped from 115percent to 85percent, overcoming difficulties as the company found a second chance.
