Xishuangbanna police of southern China’s Yunnan province, with the help of Myanmar police, seized four alleged drug dealers in Yunnan province on Nov 5.
The four suspects were arrested after they fatally shot a Chinese anti-drug policeman in a 30-hour gunfight that day.
On Nov 4, Jinghong police of Xishaungbanna prefecture moved to break up a giant drug trafficking ring in the development zone of Jinghong city. They seized one suspect, one gun and 21 kilos of drugs after an exchange of gunfire in which Li Jingzhong, a 32-year-old policeman, died from a bullet wound in the neck.
Following these cross-national events, Xishuangbannan police initiated an emergency response plan and split up available officers into many groups, which led to the arrest of the other three suspects.
Those suspects were arrested in succession and another gun and a car were seized. Myanmar police handed over the suspects in Daluo port in the Sino-Myanmar border area at 2:00 pm Nov 6.
