According to new Provisions on the Administration of Road Passenger Transport and Passenger Stations which took effect on March 1, real-name registration is applied to provincial-level and city-level passenger transport vendors, passenger stations and ticket offices.
The identity information will be printed on the long-distance bus tickets. If passengers lose the tickets, they can obtain new ones for free after identity verification.
The new provisions also stipulate that passengers booking online tickets should provide document information when picking up tickets at the bus station.
Those who bring a child that previously didn’t require a ticket should also use identity documents to apply for a ticket with the child’s real name on it.
