15th China International Software Expo Opens in Beijing

The 15th China International Software Expo opened at Beijing Exhibition Center on May 12, 2011. The expo was jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT ), the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, Beijing Municipal Government, and the China Software Industry Association. The opening ceremony was chaired by MIIT Deputy Minister Yang Xueshan, and MIIT Minister Miao Wei delivered a speech. Participants included more than 500 officials, scholars, experts and enterprise executives from the sponsors, administrations for software and information technology at various levels, software enterprises from home and abroad and foreign embassies and consulates.

The expo, the largest and the most influential international software expo in China, kicked off in the first year of the 12th Five-Year Plan and attracted extensive attention from the industry nationally and abroad. Currently, the Document 18 of the State Council had accomplished its mission and the Document 4 of the State Council in 2011 has just been released.

The software expo held 9 forums including the 2011 China Software and Information Technology Services Development Summit, China International Forum on Finance and Science and Technology, China Software Investment and Finance Forum, Intellectual Property Forum, Industrial Software Development Forum, the International Forum on China's Software Development Process, Ability and Value, and Information Security Industry Development Forum under Cloud Computing.
