China Xidian Group Co, one of China's top electronic manufacturers, was recently approved to be a national demonstration enterprise for intellectual property.

Three years ago the company was identified as a national model IP creator, and since then, it has worked to achieve a number of major technological breakthroughs. Now it is the owner of many core proprietary intellectual properties.

The company executives said their strategic management of intellectual property has been "significantly enhanced".

They have also improved their competitiveness, which "provided strong support for Xidian's business and development", executives said.

Over the past decades, Xidian has always adhered to a philosophy of independent innovation and IP creation. Now it owns more than 1,300 patents, more than 160 of which are invention patents.

In the past three years, Xidian was granted five national patent awards, including three golden prizes.

Xidian executives said that they will continue to encourage innovation and further improve their IP creation, use, protection and management systems to build a globally advanced electric group with a competitive innovative capacity.

The selection of national demonstration enterprises for intellectual property is a strategic effort by the State Intellectual Property Office that is intended to recognize a group of key enterprises with proprietary intellectual property rights and well-known brands as well as strong competitiveness in the global market.

The campaign will help lay a solid foundation for the full implementation of the national intellectual property strategy.

The award-winning companies will lead the way in scientific and technological innovation as well as the drive to bring sustainable reforms to the country's industrial structure.
