Google is happy to remove specific links from websites that distribute pirated content from search results but it’s apparently drawing the line at censoring entire websites. TorrentFreak reports that the BPI recording industry association recently sent Google a takedown notice that asked the company to remove the entire Pirate Bay homepage from search results. Although The Pirate Bay is notorious for containing links to pirated content, its homepage does not actually contain any infringing links and Google so far has refused to blacklist it from search results.
