Shanghai: Domestic Deep-sea Drilling Ship

The Opus Tiger 1, the nation's first deep-sea drilling ship built with Chinese technologies, was finished on Nov 8. Funded by Reignwood Group and constructed by the Shanghai Shipyard of China State Shipbuilding Corp, the 46,000-ton ship can work in seas up to 1,700 meters deep and drill to 12,000 m below the ocean floor.
