Recently, the Beijing First Intermediate People's Court made the first instance verdict towards the prosecution conducted by Ford Motor Company (Ford) which is the owner of "Lincoln" brand, against the Trademark Review and Adjudication Board of the Sate Administration for Industry & Commerce of the People's Republic of China (the Board). It is reported that in September, 2012, the Sate Administration for Industry & Commerce rejected the application of English trademark "LINCOLN" submitted by Ford on the ground of similarity.
Failed also in the review procedure of the Board, Ford filed an administrative lawsuit to the Beijing First Intermediate People's Court against the Board. According to the first instance verdict released recently, the court sustains the original rejection judgment.
