The Silicon Valley has always played the leading role on innovation in both PC and mobile Internet regions. However, recently, a patent analysis report shows that the Silicon Valley is lagging behind, and instead, Asian countries including China, South Korea and Japan have advanced to the leading position in the technical study of Internet of Things (IoT). China's technology corporation ZTE takes the first place.

According to Forbes, UK Intellectual Property Office released a patent analysis report after analyzing the patent technology of IoT worldwide from 2003 to 2013. It is reported that the Silicon Valley stays backward on IoT research and development.

Google, the famous global giant in mobile internet, only ranks No. 84 on the list of IoT patents, and its counterpart, Apple, ranks No. 27. South Korean enterprises Samsung and LG rank No. 2 and 3 respectively. Huawei from China ranks No. 10.
