Royal palace of Tang Dynasty shown at Expo
2010-07-23

The Daming Palace of Lintong in Northwest China's Shaanxi province was once home to the royal family during the Tang Dynasty over 1300 years ago. Since the 1950s, measures have been taken to protect the Daming Palace site.

At the 2010 World Expo, it is included in the Urban Best Practices Area. Dancers perform in the Tang style, the discoverer of the terra cotta warriors signs books, and randomly selected visitors get souvenirs, all convey a welcoming message to the public upon visiting the Urban Best Practices Area pavilion, as well as the actual Daming Palace in Shaanxi.

Serving as a great example of the harmony between world heritage protection and modern city life, the Daming Palace allows visitors to travel back through time to appreciate both the splendor of the old empire and the dramatic development of today.
