Xi'an to set up Greater Heritage Site
2010-08-13

Xi'an Cultural Department announced that Xi'an will strive to make more efforts to protect its cultural heritage and build a Greater Heritage Site.

Xi'an's four major heritage sites - Daming Palace National Heritage Park of Tang dynasty, Wall Relics Park of Han Dynasty, Efang Palace Site of Qin Dynasty and Fenggao Relics of West Zhou - will be included in the special zone for protection.

The local government will provide favorable financial and resource policies for theses sites.

In addition, Xi’an aims to develop into a city of museums, where 50 new museums are expected to be constructed. Individual citizens are encouraged to contribute to the construction.
