Over 1 mil tourists visit Daming Palace National Heritage Park
2010-10-09

Xi'an Daming Palace National Heritage Park, opened on October 1, attracted over one million visitors from all over the country during the National Day golden week, reported Xi’an Daily.

Of all the visitors, about 30 percent are non-local, according to the Daming Palace Preservation Office.

“Daming Palace is the first place I visited when I came back,” said Wang Jing, a local working in another city. “I went to Daming Palace immediately after I got off the train.”

“I waited in line for over half an hour before getting into the museum, but the museum is worth visiting,” said 16-year-old Zhang Han at the Daming Palace Heritage Museum.

While visiting the park, visitors could also enjoy excellent performances in the “Art Festival of the Palace,” courtesy of performers from Italy, Iran, Korea, Turkey and Russia.

Daming Palace has also changed the tourism pattern of Xi’an, creating a hot tourist attraction in the northern part of the city.
