Daming Palace Preservation Project is a giant heritage project in China. It is a project of great significance in terms of cultural heritage preservation.

In accordance with the planning and deployment of Xi'an Municipal Committee of Communist Party and the municipal government, Xi’an Qujiang New District, a National Cultural Industry Demonstration Zone, assumed the full responsibility for the planning and construction of Daming Palace Relics Region Preservation Demonstration Project in October 2007. This project had a planned area of 19.16 square kilometers and the construction items included relocation and transformation of the villages within the city and the shantytowns, construction of Daming Palace National Heritage Park, and construction of the supporting infrastructure in the Heritage Park. This project created many benefits to society. It accelerated urbanization and improved the living standards of residents. The project also marked a new round of city transformation from the old Xi'an city.

At the core of the project works, Daming Palace Relics Region will be developed into a large historical and cultural Heritage park-Daming Palace National Heritage Park. It will achieve full-scale, effective and efficient protection. After completion, Daming Palace National Heritage Park will become a “City Central Park” and the “green lung” of Xi'an city. This project is a comprehensive, large-scale and fruitful exploration and pilot project for cultural heritage preservation and application.

Daming Palace National Heritage Park, which opened on October 1, 2010, has become the most beautiful attraction in Xi’an.
