The first native singing and rhythmic gymnastics competition kicked off on August 28 in Dehong, an autonomous prefecture in Yunnan province, as a welcoming ceremony for the upcoming 26th National Teachers' Day.

The prefecture kindergarten, special education school, middle school and training college all sent their teams to participate.

Several popular Dehong-specific songs were sung and five kinds of native dance mixed with modern features were performed at the competition, providing audiences with a veritable visual-volume venue.

Teams from Luxi city and Lianghe County ranked first in singing and dancing, respectively.
