The “Cooperation Agreement of Intent on Establishing Yunnan International Jewelry Institute in Dehong” was signed between Dehong People’s Government and the China Overseas-Educated Scholars Development Foundation on December 3rd.
As the agreement stipulates, the foundation will invest 1 billion yuan into the institute for full financing and construction, and its investment entity will register in Dehong before the end of January in 2011.
The institute is expected to occupy more than 33 hectares. Construction will start next year, with completion in 2013. the institute will recruit students from all over the country, Southeast Asia, and South Asia, training senior and intermediate professional and technical personnel on jewelry culture industry, while focusing on the areas of production, learning and research.
“We extend our welcome to the China Overseas-Educated Scholars Development Foundation and their intention to establish the Yunnan International Jewelry Institute in Dehong. We will cooperate with them in a positive way,” said Tian Dayu, vice governor of Dehong.
