Traffic police in Dehong prefecture have launched a six-month special campaign against serious traffic violations.
They will mainly focus on problems of illegal parking and illegal occupation of the emergency standby lanes in May, July and September, and shift to speeding, overload and seat belt wearing in June, August and October, according to Zhao Yinhong, head of the traffic police group.
“We will also set up more traffic alert facilities on the two demonstration roads,” he added. “Billboards encouraging courteous driving will be established on both ends of each road.”
In addition, warning signs or speed bumps will be set up in ramps, curved roads, bridges and tunnels.
