DRC delegation visits Czech Republic, Croatia and Bulgaria

A delegation of the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC), led by DRC President Li Wei, visited the Czech Republic, Croatia and Bulgaria from June 5-14.
The visit aimed to learn from experiences in economic and social transformation in the three countries, especially the transformation and development of their social security systems.
In the Czech Republic, Li Wei met with Zdenek Skromach, vice-chairman of the Senate; Ludmila Mullerova, minister of labor and social affairs; Miroslav Kalousek, finance minister; and Hynkem Kmonickem, director general of the Foreign Affairs Department of the President’s Office.
In Croatia, Li met with Ivo Josipović, president of the Republic of Croatia. In Bulgaria, the delegation had meetings with the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies, the Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency, and the Invest Bulgaria Agency.
During the 10-day trip, the delegation also had meetings with Chinese companies that invested in the three countries. Sun Lanlan, director-general of the International Cooperation Department; Yu Bin, director-general of the Department of Macroeconomic Research; and Ge Yanfeng, director-general of the Research Department of Social Development, were in the delegation.

Urbanization and agricultural modernization are inseparable and dependent on each other. Agricultural and rural areas are not becoming destitute in the urbanization process, but are actually developing and improving.
