The International Horticultural Exposition 2011 Xi’an will be held in the Chan-Ba Ecological District, Xi’an from April 28 to October 22 with the theme of “eternal peace & harmony between nature & mankind, nurturing the future earth”. It is sponsored by the State Forestry Administration, P.R. China, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the China Flower Association, and the People's Government of Shaanxi Province, and co-sponsored by the Xi'an Municipal People's Government. The International Horticultural Exposition 2011 Xi’an will be directed by ecological civility in revealing the historical, cultural and regional characteristics of Xi’an, and demonstrate a new concept and the idea of engendering a harmonious coexistence between human and nature, city and nature. The International Horticultural Exposition 2011 Xi’an is A2+B1 level (International Horticultural Exhibition + Permanent International Horticultural Exhibition) and covers an area as large as 418 hectares, 188 hectares of which are water. By the opening of the International Horticultural Exposition 2011 Xi’an, there will be over 100 cities and organizations at home and abroad invited to participate in the Exposition. More than 12 million visitors are expected to attend the Exposition.
