Updated: 2010-07-28

Gulou (Drum Tower) district in Fuzhou plans to start the construction of a hot spring museum, which will represent a relatively high-level of such kind domestically. The museum will be located on the northeast corner of the Hot Spring Park on Wusi Road. The project has started inviting investment; all individuals and enterprises that have experience and strength in tourism or hot spring project development and operations are invited to negotiate investment.

The proposed hot spring museum will be composed of two floors, a ground floor and an underground floor. The combined space will be more than one thousand square meters. It will include a spa experience area, leisure and commercial area, and an underground parking lot. The design is still undergoing adjustment.

The project will be run by way of BOT (Build—Operate—Transfer), with a planned operation duration of 20 years. The anticipated total investment amounts to 500 million yuan. The proposed hot spring museum together with the 190,000 sq m Hot Spring Park and the nearby Empark Grand Hotel and International Convention Center will be sure to carve a unique niche in the urban spa complex industry.
