Updated: 2010-07-29

On July 23, two leading enterprises - Xiamen Airlines and Industrial Bank, whose headquarters are located in the economic zone of the west coast - announced in Fuzhou the issuance of an "Industrial Bank and Xiamen Airlines joint credit card." Both will seize the enormous opportunities brought by the Heisey construction project and make full use of the brand power, service and channel resources on financing and civil aviation so that they can share complementary advantages and seek a win-win development.

The Industrial Bank and Xiamen Airlines joint credit card, based on the conventional credit card financing and payment functions, has integrated and made use of Xiamen Airlines' abundant air service resources, offering more services for business travel, including tickets, concessions redemption, and mileage accumulation, according to sources.

For example, holders of the Golden Card and the basic card would be allowed to exchange Xiamen Airlines mileage for 180 credit card points or gain Aviation Accident Insurance, which may amount to 2 million yuan. At the same time, the Platinum Card would focus more on the needs of high-end business travelers.

Among the benefits would be a value discount of exchanging Xiamen Airlines mileage for 80 credit card points, public transport accident insurance, which may amount to 10 million yuan, airport VIP services at 22 domestic airport in 21 central cities throughout the year, four-year free limousine airport transfers and unlimited 24-hour roadside assistance.

What's more, the card is China's first joint credit card that meets the requirements of environmental protection. By using biodegradable environmentally friendly materials, there will be less pollution on the environment when the cards are destroyed.

Coinciding with the World Expo in Shanghai, to meet the travel needs of customers in Shanghai and Fujian during the World Expo, the Industrial Bank has also launched a series of credit card offer activities with "World Expo to send good 'in'" as the theme. The activities are aimed at repaying the first group of cardholders.

At the press conference, executives of the two enterprises expressed great confidence about the market prospects of the new credit card. They both regard this as a new beginning for a further all-around cooperation.

Bi Zhonghua, chairman of the Industrial Bank Supervisory Board, indicated that their collaboration with Xiamen Airlines can be regarded as a "win-win cooperation."

"We expect to make good use of Heisey's tentative development policy and firmly grasp the business chances on commerce, trade and tourism between Taiwan and the mainland, which were brought by the ever-increasing Heisey's economy. We exert our cutting edge in finance and civil aviation. We share our band effect, network, services and customer resources. We offer our guests one-stop, first-rate service. Furthermore, we improve the competitiveness of Industrial Bank. Through the effort, we will become the bright spot in Heisey's economic development."

Hong Disheng, chairman of Xiamen Airlines, said that by virtue of the financial enterprises' support, Xiamen Airlines will go far. The booming of the Heisey economic zone will drive up the number of people who travel for commerce and trade between Taiwan and the mainland.

There exists a great potential in the aviation trade market, and Xiamen Airlines will draw support from the nationwide network and marketing service capability of Industrial Bank to further expand its service and enlarge its marketing coverage and influence outside of Fujian such as the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta.
