The updating work of the Fuxing economic development zone will soon put on its curtains, Fuzhounews reported. A high-tech industrial park to serve Fuzhou and Taiwan will be set up in Fuzhou on the basis of the Fuzhou economic development zone within three years’ time.
It is said that the new industrial park mainly concentrates on photoelectric and sophisticated facilities, industrial design and high-tech projects. Those programs that are gum- and plastic-related will never be involved again.
The Fuxing development zone is built upon the original Gushan development zone, which was set up in 1990, the first-ever private investment area in Fujian province. Logistics, textile, mechanical device manufacturing and photoelectric industries were the major elements before. However, some shortcomings can never be ignored, such as the imperfection of infrastructure and low-level operating and so on.
The implementation of establishing such a new high-tech zone brings great benefits to the locals. The economy there will boom and therefore people’s living standards will be improved.
Government officials in Fujian promise to take all measures to ensure the establishment of the Fuxing economic development zone.
Industrial park
An industrial park is an area zoned and planned for the purpose of industrial development. In Hong Kong, industrial parks usually refer to industrial estates. In the United Kingdom, small industrial parks containing multiple units all of the same style are known as trading estates. A more “lightweight” version is the business park or office park, which has offices and light industry, rather than heavy industry.
