Fuzhou becomes innovation city

Fuzhou became the second pilot innovation city in Fujian province after winning permission from the National Scientific and Technology Bureau of the People’s Republic of China.

An innovation city refers to one with economic driving forces that include science, knowledge, human and cultural resources. Innovation cities range from culture innovation centers and industry centers to cities boasting a strong hospitality industry or science base. Paris and London are typical examples of cultural innovation cities, while Kansas City is an industry hub and New York City is known for its hospitality industry.

Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian province, now ranks among the top 50 cities in China.
