Twelve Fujian billionaires were named to the The 2010 Hurun List this month.

Hurun released the list of 1,000 billionaires on Oct 12, ranking each by net worth. All 12 Fujian billionaires were part of the Top 100.

With a fortune of 33 billion yuan, the family of Xu Rongmao ranks at the top of the 12 Fujian billionaires and Xu ranks No 10 on the full list. The Hurun List is an annual ranking of the richest men and women in China.

In addition, 62 billionaires and families whose company headquarters are located in Fujian were on the list, six more than the last year. Each has a fortune of more than 1.5 billion yuan.

According to the list, Guangdong province has the largest number of billionaires of 213, followed by Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Beijing and Shanghai.

Most billionaires are in the real estate business. The youngest are in the entertainment industry. The highest proportion of companies listed are in the financial industry, followed by pharmaceutical and IT industries.
