Gulou district in Fuzhou has been selected as one of the thirty-seven national-level pilot regions specializing in hospitality to undergo a major transformation and reforms.

After being ranked as a pilot place for reform and change, Gulou was guaranteed a certain priority status in terms of government policy, capital support, project introduction, mechanism building, and other such things. Any enterprise or corporation that bases its operations in Gulou will be granted some preferential policies to ensure their growth. The Gulou government has committed to perfecting the awarding and aiding mechanism to give support to those corporations in this region, and Gulou is sure to welcome this priceless chance for reform and change. Gulou will grasp this chance to develop 3 districts in this region: the commercial district, the business district and the innovation district.

Gulou, where the hospitality industry is most developed, is the largest commercial business district in Fujian province. In recent years, the business service industry and high technology industry have boomed in this region. Eighty-three of the world’s top 500 companies have chosen Gulou as the location for their agencies, and the total number of those high technology companies account for one third of all the companies in Fuzhou. It is estimated that Gulou’s GDP this year will reach 53.7 billion yuan, of which the tertiary industry contributes 79% of the whole.
