Low-income residents of the Cui Yuan community in Pingnan county, Fujian province get an opportunity to purchase affordable housing on March 29, which is known as “Yaohao” in Chinese.
The BCA (Building and Construction Authority), Supervisory Bureau, and Notary Public Office invited 60 families to participate. “Yaohao” remains selective since the housing supply is limited.
Liu Xianbo, a 38-years-old single mother and unemployed,, had previously lived with her son in a rented apartment. But now, she can settle down in a house of her own, while her son can prepare for middle school.
The local government has funded the Cui Yuan affordable housing construction project. Officials are allocating land, providing funds and selecting construction teams.
Total investment of the project is 11.4 million yuan, with 60 units under construction. Other affordable housing projects are reportedly under construction as well.
