Fuzhou to forge LED industrial chain

The first production line of 8-inch integrated circuit (IC) chip in Fujian Province will be set up in Fuzhou Biomedical and Electromechanical Industrial Park，Minhou County.

The IC chip production line, which is invested in RMB 3 billion and covers an area of 331 acres, is founded jointly by the Fuzhou municipal government, Fujian Fushun Micro-Electronics Co Ltd, Fujian Investment and Development Group Co Ltd and Fujian Electronics Information Group Co Ltd.

Construction of the production line is divided into two phases. Invested in RMB 1 billion, the first phase covers 77.23 acres and will produce over 240,000 8-inch IC chips every year after putting into production.

According to Shi Jianhui, director of the Management Committee of Jinshan Industrial Concentration Zone, the final design of the first phase has been accomplished and will be put into implementation in Sept 2012. After two years, the first production line will start operating, with an estimated annual production of RMB 90 million yuan.
